Alpine skiing and snowboarding
Rauland has three ski resorts: Vierli Skisenter, Rauland Skisenter and Raulandsfjell Alpinsenter. Rauland also boasts Norway's best snowboard park, Vierli Terrengpark.
There are in total 44 slopes, 17 lifts and one magic carpet for the youngest. 10 black slopes, 18 red, 9 blue and 7 green slopes. A joint ski pass for all three ski resorts makes Rauland the largest alpine destination in Telemark. The free ski bus connects the ski resorts.
Vierli Skisenter has five ski lifts and 11 ski slopes of varying difficulties, so whether you are an expert alpine skier or a novice, you will find the right challenge here. Part of Vierli Ski Resort is Vierli Swag Terrengpark, which was recently voted Norway’s top terrain park for snowboard and twin tip by both the Norwegian Snowboard Association and VG newspaper (Norway's second largest newspaper). Evening skiing on floodlit slopes in the park every Wednesday and Saturday from 6 pm to 9 pm. At Vierli Skisenter you will also find a large toboggan centre, with three special toboggan slopes. Here you can hire all the necessary tobogganing equipment .
Rauland Skisenter is perfect for beginners, families and young people. The ski resort covers a large area from Rauland Høgfjellshotell to Holtardalen, and is the largest ski centre in Rauland with 26 ski slopes, one magic carpet and nine lifts, including two chair lifts. Here you can ski and explore new slopes the whole day. Evening skiing every Tuesday and Thursday on floodlit slopes from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Raulandsfjell Alpinsenter offers a combination of tough black slopes, red slopes and children slopes. With seven slopes and two lifts, it boasts the steepest and most demanding ski slopes in Rauland. Here you can find top level free riding opportunities. Evening skiing every Monday and Friday on floodlit slopes from 6 pm to 9 pm.

For the children
Vierli Skisenter has its own activity area for the children offering for instance a slow moving ski tow, mogul skiing slopes, jumps, mini rails, children toboggans, trampolines, igloos, Sami tent and good outdoor seating places. The Vierli Adventure Card in the activity area includes three rounds with a mini snowmobile and a four-wheel, mini toboggan and more. Accompanying adults need a lift card. The activities start at 2 pm.
Raulandsfjell Alpinsenter and Rauland Skisenter offer children slopes giving them space to frisk about in the snow, and figures and sticks in the slope make the skiing experience even more fun. Rauland Skisenter also has a magic carpet for the youngest.

The ski pass for Rauland includes all three ski resorts. Children up to the age of 6 ski for free when using a helmet.

Ski hire
The ski rental in Rauland offers snowboards, alpine skis, cross-country skis, telemark skis and freeride skis. Price example: Complete alpine carving equipment from NOK 235 per day.
Ski school
Rauland offers ski school at all three ski centres. There are skilled ski instructors who will help you improve your skiing skills and ensure a fun skiing experience. Price example: Two persons for one hour lesson (45 minutes) NOK 300 per person.
Off-piste skiing
Rauland offers good terrain for off-piste skiing at Raulandsfjell Alpinsenter and Rauland Skisenter.
Free riding/off-piste skiing is always at your own risk. Skiing outside the groomed pistes of Raulandsfjell Alpinsenter and Rauland Skisenter is also considered free skiing/off-piste skiing and at your own risk.
Cross-country skiing
Rauland offers cross-country skiing, with a 150-kilometre long network of groomed tracks in both high mountain and forest terrain. Approximately 60 kilometres of the net is prepared for free style, the rest is prepared with two double classic tracks.
Use the free ski bus service to get around and explore different starting points for your skiing trip.
Rauland has six kilometres of floodlit cross-country tracks between Rauland Høgfjellshotell and Vierli Turistsenter. With the aid of artificial snow-making machines, the tracks normally open at the end of October/beginning of November, and this helps to ensure Rauland has a long cross-country season.
There is also a lit trail of eight kilometres from Rauland centre to Attføringssenteret. The ski tracks in the centre and at Vierli are lit daily until 10 pm.

Enjoy ski in/ski out, for example at Raulandsfjell Apartments for NOK 990 per person for five days including ski pass (midweek offer, week 1-7 and 10-15).
Rauland Høgfjellshotell offers accommodation and ski pass from NOK 3,300 (4 days/3 nights) per adult in a double room (Sunday - Friday). Ski in/ski out to Rauland Skisenter.
There is a free ski bus service that connects the accommodation areas and the slopes.
