Visitors' recommendations in Flåm

- There were many highlights on the train journey with the Flåm Railway. Kjosfossen Waterfall was breathtaking, says Anne Heimann from Germany.

Reason for visit? Holiday in Norway and visit Anne’s sister in Stavanger. Been in Norway before and enjoy coming back.

Length of stay? Two weeks.

Seen so far? We have just started on our holiday, this is our third day. We have spent our days in Bergen visiting Fløibanen, the fish market and the old town. It has been a good start.

We both enjoyed the boat journey on the Nærøyfjord and the Flåm Railway. Beautiful scenery and you get to se the mountains and the fjords.

Today we are doing the Norway in a nutshell® tour. Afterwards we plan to continue to Stavanger. No specific plans.

Best experience? The grand view of Bergen from Fløibanen. Many highlights on the train journey with the Flåm Railway. Kjosfossen Waterfall was breathtaking. The view of the Nærøy Valley from Stalheim was impressive.

Worst experience? We experienced that the public transport does not always work to the advantage of the travellers. It could be better; the train arrives at the station just five minutes before the bus leaves. You need to wait one hour before the next bus. I understand that you wish tourists to spend time in each place but not everyone wishes to do so.

Biggest surprise? Everyone speaks very good English and some also German. Very cheap flights to Norway from Germany with Norwegian. Even domestic flights are cheap. The number of vacant rooms in September, we booked hotel rooms in the summer but realise that it was not necessary.

Interview took place in July 2007.
