The Øya Festival

Øya is one of the most popular music festivals in Norway. Björk and the Stone Roses will be headlining in 2012.

Experience the best Norwegian musical talent together with up-and-coming international acts and established crowd-pleasing icons.

Oslo's largest outdoor music festival

The delight of this music festival comes partly from the ability to see world famous names without the crush of a mega-festival, and from the way the acts are mixed - many different genres are represented on the three stages. The festival, which takes place in Oslo every summer, attracted 85,000 visitors in 2011.

High-profile international artists

Kanye West, Pulp, Kaizers Orchestra, Karpe Diem, Paul Weller, Robyn, Iggy Pop, Lily Allen, Madness and Arctic Monkeys are among many big names to have performed at Øya in recent years.

The UK music magazine NME has given the festival its seal of approval.

When: 7 - 11 August 2012

Where: The Medieval Park in Oslo is where The Øya Festival kicks off.
