Suldalslågen, one of the longest rivers of Rogaland county, comes to an impressive conclusion at Sandsfossen falls. This waterfall at Sand in Ryfylke is not particularly high, but it is broad – and the roar of the force of nature here is almost deafening. A couple of minutes walk from Sand village centre takes you to the falls. Situated nearby is the areas greatest tourist attraction, the Salmon Studio, with parking and an attractive rest area. Around the falls you can enjoy the old salmon latter, and look closely at old fishing devices. Water volume: 55–72 m3 per second (regulated in the summer) The Salmon Studio is open in the summer – Sandsfossen can be savoured year round.

Closeby lies Høsebru - a pedestrian bridge across the Suldalslågen river designed by Rintala Eggertsson Architects. The bridge was constructed in 2012. It has subtle lighting installed making it particularly nice to see in the evening and on dull days. Have a stroll across and see the Sandsfossen from the other shore.
