Try gorge jumping at Kjøsterudjuvet

The Kjøsterudjuvet is a 10,000-year-old gorge just ten minutes from downtown Drammen. This ravine in the mountain side is 1,300 metres long with a rise of 250 metres. The vertical walls are up to 60 metres high and the ravine is only 4 metres wide at its most narrow part.

Play golf

The many golf courses in the Drammen Region are all located just 10 - 40 minutes by car from the centre of Drammen. The golf courses are so densely situated that you, in the course of a long weekend, can go golfing from place to place. At Imjelt Pitch & Putt you will find Norway’s only 18-hole year-round pitching and putting course.

Go fishing

The Drammen River is one of Norway’s best salmon rivers. In the spring, the sea trout fishing along the entire coastal strip from Sande to Slemmestad is a phenomena on its own. Extremely active fish preservation measures ensure that there are plenty of fish to catch, even in easily accessible waters.

Enjoy fresh air

In Finnemarka, wooded mountain area, there is a huge network of walking paths and trails. Here you can cycle, walk, run or ride, it is up to you.

Along the coast you can follow the waymarked coastal path ("Kyststien) between Røyken, Hurum, Sande and Svelvik.

If you prefer travelling by boat, you can dock your boat in Holmsbu or one of the other marinas in the region.

Go swimming at Drammensbadet

Drammensbadet is one of the largest water park facilities in Norway. Here you will find several pools both indoors and outdoors – including a 50-metre pool. In addition you will find water slides, climbing walls and so on.

Visit a farm

Bring the children to one of the many open farms in the region. Here, they can go riding and play in the hay. At Sand Farm in Hurum they have hens, sheep, pigs, ducks, rabbits, turkeys, horses and cats. The farm also has a small café selling delicious cakes and bread.

Have fun at a festival

At the region's annual festivals in August and September you will find local food straight from the farmer, exciting activities for the children and much more. The River Festival in Drammen can tempt you with outdoor concerts featuring world class artists, a fun fair, a dragon boat race, exhibitions and amusements.

Watch the streetlife in Drammen

Drammen is a modern city with pulsating culture and streetlife. In the middle of the city lies the square Bragernes torg, one of Scandinavia’s largest squares, which is the site for florists and vegetable vendors, an artificial skating rink, concerts, political rallies, street theatres and other amusements.
