Storgata shopping precinct

Most of the shops in Lillehammer are located in Storgata, or in the surrounding streets. From Lilletorget Square, you can take a detour to the old industrial area of Mesna Brug that today houses a number of shops and has been given the name Mesnasenteret. In addition to "ordinary" things to buy, you will find shops selling local handicrafts and knitwear.

Husfliden Lillehammer

For more than one hundred years, Husfliden has supplied products that bring joy, festivity and identity to its customers. Through a nation-wide design concept, Norsk Flid, and in collaboration with leading Norwegian designers and producers, Husfliden promotes and supports Norway's proud traditions in a modern form. The shop is located in the middle of Storgata at The Sigrid Undset Square.

Strandtorget Shopping Centre

53 shops under one roof. Free parking – 850 spaces. Bus service to/from the centre of town every hour. Whilst you shop, your children can be looked after at Giraffen Lekepark.

Sports equipment

Lillehammer has many sports shops. Fjällräven, the Swedish outdoor clothing store has their Norway office and outlet in Storgaten. Rustadstuen is on the other side of the street, with frequent sales and good service. Rustadstuen specialises on ice fishing and fly-fishing. You can also buy fishing licences here.

Brusveen, in the opposite end of Storgaten specialises in extreme skiing. Mesna Sport near the Mesna Bridge is big on ice skating, hockey, and alpine skiingSport 1 in Kirkegaten, towards the railway station, is big and has a good selection of camping and hiking gear. They also have brand departments for Norrøna, Bergans and Lowe.

Buy Swix ski wax, it is even produced in town. The various stores in town sometimes have good offers on sleeping bags (Ajungilak, a Norwegian make), skis and bikes at the beginning and tail end of the repective seasons, and fishing gear at the end of the season. 

Opening hours for shops in town centre

Monday - Wednesday and Friday 9 am - 5pm, Thursday 9 am - 7pm,
Saturday 10 am - 4pm. Some shops have longer opening hours during the summer season.
