The accommodation in Rondane is centered around the four gateways to the national park; Høvringen, Mysuseter, Grimsdalen and Folldal.
Visitors to Rondane are free to hike and camp in all areas of the park, except in the immediate vicinity of cabins
Inside the national park you will find several mountian cabins owned and operated by the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT). These cabins are only reachable by hiking or skiing depending on the season. In these places you will find the ultimate silence and laid-back nature.
The most popular of DNT's cabins in Rondane is Rondvassbu. The cabin is staffed, and provides food and limited accommodation (it is possible to pre-book).
Rondvassbu has a central location by the southern end of Lake Rondvatnet with tempting peaks in all directions. Svartnuten Peak towers behind the lodge, and behind it lies a string of peaks - Vinjeronden, Storronden and the highest of them all, Rondeslottet (2,178 metres above sea level).
The cabin was built in 1903 and bought by DNT in 1929. Since then, it has been expanded and remodelled several times.
You can also stay at the DNT cabins Dørålseter and Bjørnhollia at the northern and eastern rims of the park. Both cabins are staffed, and provide food and limited accommodation (it is possible to pre-book).
There are also un-staffed cabins in Rondane, such as Eldåbu, where a key is needed. The DNT also has associated partners at Høvringen and Mysuseter.
