It is easy to travel to Trysil by car. From Oslo, it only takes 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Follow the E6 towards Trondheim, then drive approximately 108 kilometres and turn right at the sign to Elverum/Trysil. Drive approximately 25 kilometres until reaching the road rv. 25 and turn right towards Elverum. Continue straight through the roundabout in Elverum, through the tunnel under the town centre, then onwards to Trysil, approximately 67 kilometres.
From Denmark, the ferry companies Stena Line and Color Line bring you safely to Norway. Both sail from Fredrikshavn to Oslo. Stena Line also sails from Fredrikshavn to Gothenburg, and Color Line from Fredrikshavn to Larvik. Both companies sell complete ski holiday packages in Trysil, with the ferry ticket included.
Taking a bus to Trysil is easy as well. Trysilekspressen operates an express route between Oslo, Oslo Airport Gardermoen and Trysil. The bus departs several times every day all year around.
Buses travel between Copenhagen/Malmö/Gothenburg and Oslo on a daily basis. In Oslo you make a transfer to Trysilekspressen (see above).
In the winter you can also travel by bus from Stockholm to Trysil every Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Oslo Airport Gardermoen is Norway's main airport and is only a two hour-drive away (160 kilometres) from Trysil. From the airport you can go by express bus or rental car to Trysil.
Trains depart from Oslo city centre, Oslo Airport Gardermoen and other main cities to Elverum, 70 kilometres away from Trysil. From Elverum, express buses depart several times a day for Trysil.
