Harstad has a wide variety of restaurants and cafés. Many of the restaurants know how to appreciate locally produced meat, fish and vegetables.
Local farmers of sheep, cattle, pigs, goats and wild sheep are gaining increasingly more attention for their products. Of local personalities inspired by food, Kari Innerå should be mentioned. She won a gold medal with the Norwegian Culinary Team at the Culinary Olympics.
