Cabins

A cabin holiday in Sørlandet in Southern Norway is familiar and dear to many Norwegians, and has been for many generations. There are plenty of companies where you can hire a cabin for a week or two, for example Agderferie AS.

Apartments

You can also rent an apartment several places in the region, also near the towns, which makes a holiday among the skerries available to your family, in addition to keeping some of the perks of what town life has to offer. Stay at for example the cosy Sjømannssuitene - Det lille Hotel in Risør.

Camping

The camp sites are many and good, and with a short distance to the beach and the sea, the family holiday is ensured during the summer season. The quiet of the woods can be found at Åmli Nature Camp in Åmli.

There are also plenty of fabulous areas where you can put up a tent or park your caravan – if you do not choose Mineralparken Bobilcamp, a caravan camp in Setesdal, merely one hour from Arendal.

If you are looking for another kind of low-priced family holiday, there is a hostel merely 20 minutes from Arendal town centre.

Hotels

Summertime, as well as wintertime, the many hotels in the Arendal Region are warm and inviting. There are both chain hotels such as Thon Hotel Arendal, and local hotels such as Strand Hotel Fevik.

The hotels often offer good restaurants, a vibrant cultural life nearby and varied shopping possibilities – all of which makes you stay both relaxed and complete.

There are hotels in the inland area too, with the woods and water outside your window, and great areas for walking nearby, for example at Pan Garden in Åmli.

Guest houses

The smaller guest houses, such as Maries Gjestehus, offer a calm atmosphere in beautiful surroundings, and they are located by the water or close to the woods and the hills.
