Trondheim has been a meeting place for more than 1,000 years so the city is used to taking good care of its guests.
In the 17th century Trondheim was well known in Europe for its celebrity parties and the lovely food and wine served. When ships were on their way to the far north, Trondheim was the port they chose to visit. They knew there would be a party where English and French were spoken among the guests.
Trondheim is also known as an historical city in Norway. All of Norway’s Kings have been crowned or blessed in the Nidaros Cathedral, and now all the crown jewels are on display in a museum at the Archbishop’s Palace.
The city continues to focus on providing good, local food and history for its guests.
