Salmon castle

The Salmon castle (Lakseslottet Lindum) was built by an English lord in 1884 and has its own friendly ghost. His guests were enthusiastic Englishmen who fished for salmon or went hunting in Ryfylke. Between the 1st and 2nd World War, the property was turned into a home for boys who were suffering with tuberculosis. The ghost at Lindum, named the reliable nurse, is known from this time.

Today the castle has a conference hall with room for 50 people and group rooms with an historical aura.  The big dining room can serve up to 65 guests. For minor groups the castle can offer more intimate rooms, such as Lord Sibthorp's Dining Room.

The Salmon castle is in Suldal, two hours drive from Haugesund. The hotel has 24 double rooms in a separate wing.

Ryvarden Lighthouse

Ryvarden was built in 1849 and lies by the sea. Since the lighthouse became automatic in 1984, the buildings have been used as a cultural centre. The meeting room is in the gallery, from where participants can enjoy the panoramic view in all directions. Although inside, guests will have the feeling of being close to nature.

Ryvarden Lighthouse can offer catering for up to 50 people. In the lighthouse keeper's quarter accommodation is offered for eight to 10 people. The lighthouse is 22 kilometres from Haugesund.
