Meetings and conferences
Located in historical surroundings with real charm and atmosphere, a stay at one of the Historic Hotels will guarantee you peace, quiet and inspiration. Combine this with an exciting range of activities and you have the foundation for a fruitful event. Member hotels offer you the special quality and service your meeting deserves.
Although best known for its historic past, the organisation consisting of 43 of Norway's finest hotels is also eager to be a part of the future.
Member hotels are far from ordinary. They are landed estates, country houses, manors, large and small timber-built hotels in pseudo-Swiss and Jugend (Art Nouveau) style, old coaching inns and many more historic buildings that have been transformed into beautiful, small, atmospheric hotels.
The hotels offer fine cuisine based on the very best ingredients, as well as vintage wines from their very own wine cellars. They also boast original artwork on the walls, authentic cultural experiences, interiors and decor based on long traditions and an exciting history. In addition, some offer spa treatments and golf.
The hotel stands in an idyllic, fairytale location at the gateway to Nordmarka, only 20 minutes from the centre of Oslo. Even the most discerning of guests will be satisfied with the hotel's food and drink, and wine tasting or aperitifs can be arranged before dinner in the hotel's wonderful wine cellar.
The Kvikne family bought the hotel, renamed Balholm in 1877, and are still running it today. The original hotel was built in the traditional Swiss architectural style and despite many waves of expansion and restoration, the appearance of the building remains true to the original concept. As a result, Kviknes is a modern hotel with personality and soul, embracing an atmosphere of bygone centuries.
One of Norway’s oldest hotels, it is a family-run establishment, founded on a set of unique values passed on from generation to generation. Sundvolden Hotel may seem ancient, with its history dating back 1,000 years, but here you will find every modern comfort. For a taste of history, do not miss its unique collection of art and antiques. Hotel staff aim to satisfy the minds, souls and stomachs of all of their guests.
Over the last 100 years, Fleischer’s Hotel has established a reputation as one of the most service-minded and traditionally run hotels in Norway. The hotel was built in 1889 in the pseudo-Swiss style with towers, spires, large dormers and balconies. Today, Fleischer's is a modern hotel in which the spirit, charm and style of the past have been preserved. At present, the fifth generation of the Fleischer family runs the hotel.
Sola Strand Hotel
Guests have been able to enjoy the hotel’s enviable location on Sola Beach for 90 years. At the same time, the hotel is an attraction in itself and has been described by many guests as a 'cultural jewel', an appellation it is rightly proud of. Today Sola Strand Hotel is a first-class hotel with distinctive historical features dating from its origins, preserved in the reception area and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and the meeting and conference facilities ultra-modern.
