Along the Strandpromenaden and near by the city center of Kristiansand is Bystranda.

Bystranda is a nice sandy beach with swim pier, sun deck and palm trees - ideal for children. In addition, there are separate bathing ramp for the disabled.

The Blue Flag is a voluntaryeco-label awarded beaches and marinas. Blue Flag is an exclusive distinction is awarded only 5 beaches in Norway - including Bystranda in Kristiansand. The Blue Flag works towards sustainable development at beaches/marinas through strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management, and safety and other services.
