Description

In the indoor museum you may visit these exhibits: We won the land,  The Old Workshops,  The Folk Art of the Gudbrandsdalen region.
Until Christmas, the temporary exhibit is on paper clippings by Karen Bit Vejle.  During the spring of 2012 an exhibit will open, featuring the founder of the museum, Dr. Anders Sandvig.

The museum shop has an assortment of gifts and souvenirs in different price categories, among others old-fashioned candy (uhm!). If you feel hungry, or just want to chat over a cup of coffee, the Maihaugen cafe is right there. Both are open during the museum opening hours.

The Christmas market, during the last weekend of November, features about 40 booths, open historic homes and activites for children.

Children's Winter Day in February offers winter activites for children of all ages.

Every week during the winter season you will find varied Sunday programmes at 1:00 p.m.  Announcements in the local papers.

The beautiful, peaceful Open Air Museum with 200 buildings is open for hikers all winter. When the lakes freeze over, a skating rink will be cleared on the mountain farm lake. Skates and helmets may be rented. Traditional tobaggons may be found oustide, and may be used free of charge.
