Rammgården, the building housing Vertshuset Røros, has a long and dramatic history stretching back to the 17th century. The building was previously both a shop and a bank, but was originally built, like everything else in Røros, with the idea that it must serve two purposes: Mining and agriculture.
The main building was converted into a restaurant and bar in 1967. In the past couple of years it has been renovated in traditional Røros style in consultation with the Norwegian Directorate of Cultural Heritage.
Vertshuset Røros takes great pride in its cuisine, using local, high-quality ingredients to create gourmet meals that combine the best of modernity and tradition. Welcome to a gastronomic and cultural experience.
