Getting to Trondheim and around

Trondheim is situated in Central Norway and is easily accessible from all parts of the country.

By air

The main international airport is no more than 30 kilometres away from the city centre. In addition to frequent domestic departures and arrivals with the airlines SASNorwegian and WideroeTrondheim Airport Værnes also has direct flights from Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, London (Stansted), Prague, Murcia, Alicante, Dubrovnik, Riga and Salzburg.

By train

Do you prefer to travel by train? The Norwegian State Railways (NSB) has trains from Bodø in the north to Kristiansand in the south. "Nabotåget" departs twice a day from Östersund in Sweden to Trondheim.

By ship

If you want to travel along the coast, you may experience "the world's most beautiful voyage" aboard Hurtigruten. The ship goes along the coast from Bergen in the south to Kirkenes in the north, and offers an amazing opportunity to experience the Norwegian coast from the sea. Whether you wish to travel during summer or winter, both the north- and southbound boats depart Trondheim every day all year round.

Kystekspressen - the coastal express, is a catamaran which takes you from Kristiansund to Trondheim three times a day.
