Getting to the Hamar Region and around

The Hamar Region is located 120 kilometres north of Oslo, along the main road E6. It is rather easy to get to by car, train or bus.

Oslo and Oslo Airport Gardermoen are the main gateways for both international and national arrivals to Hamar.

Getting to the Hamar Region from Oslo

By car:
Follow the E6 towards Trondheim/Hamar.

Distance from Oslo: 120 kilometres

Approximate driving time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

By train:
Departures every hour from Oslo to Hamar with the Norwegian State Railways (NSB).

Approximate time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

By express bus:
Daily departures with Gudbrandalsekpressen and Nordfjordekspressen, both operated by Nor-Way Bussekspress, to Nydal Statoil which lies just outside the centre of Hamar. From Nydal Statoil you can catch a local bus or a taxi into town. 

Approximate time: 2 hours

From Oslo Airport Gardermoen

By car:
Follow the E6 towards Trondheim/Hamar.

Distance: 90 kilometres. 

Approximate time: 1 hour and 15 minutes. 

By train:
Departures every hour from Oslo Airport Gardermoen to Hamar with the Norwegian State Railways (NSB) . Approximate time: 1 hour.

By express bus:
