There are guided walks to Veslehorn every Tuesday and Friday from early June to early September (medium graded walk).
The Top 20 hiking programme is one of the most popular activities in Hemsedal during summer. This is a brochure with details of the routes to 20 different mountains in the area. The routes are signed and marked in the terrain and they are graded from easy (green and blue) to more demanding hikes (red and black).In addition to the Top 20 programme there are 15 other footpaths along which you will be able to see waterfalls, suspension bridges, old wooden buildings and more. These footpaths follow the same grading system as the Top 20 hikes.
Hemsedal Tourist Information Office has a guide that includes seven suggestions for round trips from Hemsedal and descriptions of what you can see along the way. The guide costs NOK 40 and can be purchased at the tourist office.

The fjords in a day with your own car? Drive from Hemsedal via Borgund Stave Church, through the Lærdal Tunnel to Flåm (allow two hours). Take a trip on the Flåm Railway (up to Myrdal and back), take in the bustle of Flåm cruise ship harbour or stop and visit the old town and the Wild Salmon Centre in Lærdal.
The Sognefjord cruise departs Flåm daily at 1.30 pm between 1 June and 31 August. The boat stops at Undredal, a tiny village of 130 people and 500 goats, before the final stop in Gudvangen. Undredal Church, dating from 1147, is the smallest stave church in Norway. There is a chance to fish from the boat.
Price for the cruise and return bus from Gudvangen to Flåm: Adults NOK 300, children 3 - 15 years NOK 150. Tickets can be purchased at Hemsedal Tourist Information Office.
If you want to enjoy three spectacular highlights in one day, drive back on the Snow Road over the mountains between Aurland and Lærdal.
Families with children should visit EKT Langedrag Mountain Park (85 kilometres from Hemsedal), the Bear Park in Flå (85 kilometres from Hemsedal) and Tropicana Water Park in Gol (30 kilometres from Hemsedal).
