Express buses from Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim stop in the area several times a day. The nearest train station is Otta on the Dovre railway line. From Otta there are local buses to most places in Jotunheimen. There are local bus connections to many places in the mountains in the main season (end of June till mid-August). Two daily bus connections Otta – Vågå - Lom - Sogndal, operated by Fjord1.
There are lots of possibilities. From the south on E6 from Oslo/Lillehammer or fv. 51 from Fagernes. From Bergen E16 via Lærdal, ferry from Fodnes to Mannheller and fv. 55 from Sogndal to Lom. From Stryn eastwards on fv. 15. From Geiranger on fv.63 and 15.
