Shopping in Nesbyen

Experience an idyllic small town with beautiful houses in the town centre and close to the museum.

Nesbyen was an administrative- and trade centre in Hallingdal in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and the architecture in town is slightly different than in other Norwegian towns. s. In the town centre you can find different shops, a chemist and a "vinmonopol" (Vinmonopolet has the exclusive right to retail wine, spirits and strong beer in Norway. The products are purchased through importers holding the required licence for import).

Nesmoen Industrial Park is located about one kilometre south of the town centre. Here you will find construction companies, car dealers and contractors. Nesbyen is often referred to as the car town in Hallingdal because of the many car dealers.
