Getting to Stryn and Nordfjord and around

Drive or take a bus to Stryn and Nordfjord from the main towns and cities in Norway, or fly into Sandane or Ålesund.

By plane

Sandane Airport Anda is centrally located in Stryn and Nordfjord, with good connections to, for example Oslo and Bergen, with the airline Widerøe.

Ålesund Airport Vigra lies two hours and 30 minutes by car from Nordfjord, and offers good connections to Oslo and other Norwegian towns and cities with the airline SAS. Direct route to/from London and Copenhagen.           

By bus

Express bus to Nordfjord from Oslo (three daily departures), Bergen (three daily departures), Trondheim (one daily departure) and Ålesund (three daily departures). For more information and booking, please contact Nor-Way Bussekspress.

By express boat from Bergen

There is an express boat from Bergen to Måløy and Selje. For more information, please contact Fjord1.

With Hurtigruten (The Norwegian Coastal Voyage)

The long-established Hurtigruten calls daily at Måløy on both its northbound and southbound voyages. You can also book your Hurtigruten trip online.

By train

You can combine your trip to Stryn and Nordfjord with the train from Oslo or Trondheim, with connection in Otta. The trip continues on to Nordfjord by bus. You can also go by train to Flåm, and take the bus to Nordfjord. For more information and booking, please contact the Norwegian State Railways (NSB).

By car

The trip to Nordfjord is a great experience in itself. From Oslo and Trondheim follow the E6 to Otta, and then the rv. 15 over Strynefjellet. From Bergen and Ålesund take the E39. You can obtain information about road and traffic conditions throughout Norway by phoning 175 (+47 815 48 991 from abroad).

Ferries 

The roads in Stryn and Nordfjord are sometimes interrupted by fjords - and ferry trips. Enjoy this relaxing break from driving. Most of the ferries serve food on board and offer a lovely view of the fjord. There are three ferry crossings in Nordfjord: Lote - Anda, Stårheim - Isane and Måløy - Oldeide.
