Sognefjorden and Dalsfjorden

Experience fjord and mountain scenery at its best, with the round trip Sognefjord and Dalsfjord, a supplementary excursion to the "Sognefjord in a nutshell" tour. Gaularfjell Mountain and the Waterfall Trail (Fossestien)

You can reach the hiking route along the Gaular watercourse by bus, either from Førde or Balestrand, between 1 June and 31 August. From Førde you need to stay the night over, for example at Hov Hyttegrend (cabins). From Balestrand you can make the return trip in a day. Experience the heart of Fosseheimen, the realm of falling waters, and the Waterfall Trail, a popular family trip. Askvoll, the Dalsfjord and Bygstad

Take the bus from Førde to Askvoll, and continue with local cruise boat from Askvoll on the Dalsfjord to the village of Bygstad. This is a sightseeing trip steeped in history, taking you back to Viking times as you travel along the unspoiled Dalsfjord and past the Laukelandsfossen Waterfall. Enjoy lunch at the local restaurant Tønna, packed with history and charm. They serve dishes based on local and regional produce. There will be a bus taking you back to Førde.
