Getting to Bodø and around

Bodø is the hub of Nordland, and a great base to further explore the region, and the rest of Northern Norway.

Travelling to Bodø

By air
A flight from Oslo to Bodø only takes one hour and 20 minutes, and the airport is located 2 kilometres from the town centre. Widerøe's STOL airport network ensures that places like Svolvær, Leknes, Narvik, Brønnøysund and Røst are less than an hour away. And there are direct flights to Tromsø, Bergen and Oslo-Rygge.

By train
You can also catch the Nordlandsbanen train from Trondheim and enjoy the countryside at close quarters on the way.

By boat
Or you can board the Hurtigruten ship and sail along what is arguably the world's most beautiful coastline before disembarking in Bodø.

By car
Rv 80 links Bodø to the E6, the main road through Norway. Another alternative is the Coastal Route (Rv 17), which hugs the coast a few kilometres to the west. The Hurtigruten ship and a fast passenger boat ensure ferry services to destinations along the coast.
