Juhls' Silver Gallery

A silversmith, an art centre and a gallery provide a unique personal expression of two people's lives and visions in the heart of the Sami district of Kautokeino. Find more information on Juhls' Silver Gallery.

Sápmi 

Located in the centre of Karasjok, this Sami heritage centre presents an artistic interpretation of Sami mythology and religion, turf huts, lavvos, reindeer and a demonstration of 'duodji' — Sami handicrafts. 

The Sami Collections 

A museum featuring old buildings and exhibits about reindeer husbandry, farming, fishing, religion and heritage. Learn the context and background for your journey through Sápmi (Lapland). You will also find the world's largest collection of Sami art in this museum.

Karasjok Church 

The oldest church in Finnmark, built in 1807, miraculously survived the war. Karasjok Church is a tiny church and has a well-preserved 17th-century interior. 

Sami Parliament

The distinctive architecture of the Sami elected assembly blends into the woodland scenery. Take a guided tour and learn about Sami politics and society. 

Kautokeino Local Museum 

A collection of historic buildings from the Finnmark plain and exhibits related to reindeer husbandry and inland fishing as well as 'duodji'  (Sami handicrafts) are on display in this Kautokeino museum.

Knivsmed Strømeng 

A Sami knife is an all-round tool for all who travel the plain, and is attributed magical powers. Knivsmed Strømeng, the most renowned local knife-maker, gives a full introduction as to what makes a proper knife. 

Boble Glasshytte

A glass-blowing factory where you can blow your own glass. Boble is located in Karasjok. 

Zion Cemetery

An atmospheric old cemetery on the Kautokeino River, on the site of the first church in Máze (Masi). Built in 1721, Zion Cemetery contains traditional Sami graves.
