Getting to Setesdal and around

By car

Rv. 9, known as the "Setesdal Road", is the main road between Bergen and Kristiansand. Using a private car is the most convenient way to get to Setesdal, but public transport is also an option.

Driving non-stop on rv. 9, you will cross Setesdal in two hours. However, we recommend several stops on the journey through the valley to take time to explore this picturesque part of Norway. 

By coach

Coach connections from the eastern, western and southern parts of Norway are provided by Nor-Way Bussekspressen , which runs the South West Express (Sør Vest ekspressen) between Kristiansand and Stavanger and the Setesdal Express (Setesdals ekspressen) between Kristiansand and Haukeli, Bergen and Oslo.
