What to do in Vrådal

Hiking

Vrådal has 80 kilometres of waymarked paths both in the woods and in the mountains. In addition there are three nature trails and an arena for Nordic Walking.

Guided boat trip

During the summer months you can go for a guided tour on Lake Nisser with the veteran boat M/S Fram. The trip takes you between the tiny islands and through the two locks.

Beaver safari

Learn more about this exciting animal that builds large dams and cuts down big trees.

Museums

Kviteseid Rural Museum and Kviteseid Old Church 
The muesum's main building, Flekstveitstoga, is a prominent farmhouse dating back to the 1600s. The Old Church at Kviteseid is a Romanesque-style church built in the 1100s.

The Norwegian Ski Adventure Centre in Morgedal
Sondre Norheim, the father of modern skiing, was born in Morgedal in 1825. Through advanced multi media shows, films and exciting exhibitions, the centre presents the history of skiing. In one of the exhibition halls you get to know Olav Bjaaland who was part of Roald Amundsen's expedition to the South Pole in 1911.

Vest-Telemark Museum in Eidsborg
The museum shows you centuries of long traditions in folk arts and handicrafts, with richly decorated works of silver, wood and textile.

Eidsborg Stave Church from the thirteenth century lies at the entrance of the museum.

Åmdals Verk Gruver
Mining museum with an interesting collection based on copper mines dating back to 1540. Guided walks in the old mines.

Water activities, riding and cycling

Vrådal Straand Sommerland welcomes you with a sandy beach and playgrounds, trampolines, beach-volleyball courts, lawns and sandpits. Her you can also hire rowing boats, canoes and bicycles. The horse centre can also offer riding and trips with horse and wagon.
