Yukigassen is a game that originated in Northern Japan in the late 1990s. It is played between two teams (maximum 10 people on each) - and each team has 90 snowballs to use in each round. With snowballs, players try to hit as many players on the opposite team as possible before time runs out. Each match consists of three rounds lasting three minutes each. The game is played on a pitch that is 40 metres long and 10 metres wide. On each half there is a castle and two smaller forts, plus an additional castle in the middle of the centre line. The aim is to catch the other team's flag.
