Transport to Bergen

You can reach Bergen with direct flights from many major international hubs, with only one change of plane needed from further destinations.

There are excellent connections by road, rail, sea and air between Bergen and the continent, as well as with the rest of Norway.

By plane

The airport is situated about 18 kilometres south of the city centre and is one of Norway's most modern and passenger-friendly. At Bergen Airport Flesland you will find most of the international car rental companies.

There are regular direct flights from major international hubs such as Copenhagen, London, Stockholm, Reykjavik, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris.

Airport bus

A shuttle bus departs to and from the airport every 15 minutes from Monday to Friday and every half hour at weekends. The bus stops at the following places in the city centre: Radisson Blu Royal Hotel at Bryggen, Radisson Blu Hotel Norge and the bus station. Travelling time is approximately 40 minutes.

By ferry/express boat

Hurtigruten

Bergen is also the turn-around port for the world-famous Hurtigruten (The Norwegian Coastal Voyage). A ship departs from Bergen every night and the journey from Bergen - Kirkenes - Bergen takes 11 days.

Transport between Bergen and Oslo

There are daily flight departures with SAS and Norwegian taking approximately 50 minutes.
The spectacular train journey between Oslo and Bergen is often considered as the world's best. With four daily departures and an approximate travel time of seven hours, it is one journey not to be missed.

Nor-Way Bussekspress has daily departures between Oslo and Bergen with the approximate travel time of 10 hours.
