Transport to Lillehammer

Lillehammer is located off the E6 highway, Norway's major travel artery. The distance from Oslo Airport (Gardermoen) is 145 kilometres.


By plane

The closest airport is Oslo Airport (Gardermoen), which serves more than 100 domestic and international destinations. Take the bus or train from the airport to Lillehammer. The ride takes approximately two hours.

By car

Lillehammer is two hours and 15 minutes from Oslo, two hours from Oslo Airport Gardermoen, five hours from Trondheim and five hours from Ålesund. 

By bus

Buses leave the town centre about every 30 minutes to most of the local attractions in the area, and there are frequent train departures to Oslo and Trondheim. Rail services run approximately 15 times daily between Lillehammer and Oslo and four to six times daily to/from Trondheim.

Lillehammer Skysstasjon is the main transport terminal for buses, trains and taxis. Nor-Way Bussekspress has services to/from Oslo that run three or four times daily.  

From Lillehammer there are daily 'winter buses' going to and from Hafjell, Nordseter and Sjusjøen skiing areas.
