Dog sledging with a difference in Alta

Try dog sledging with a difference in Alta. Groups can compete in a miniature version of the Finnmarksløpet dog race or try the obstacle course.

Take your group on an unforgettable dog sledging adventure in the wild nature of Alta. Try traditional dog sledging or arrange a competition with the friendly dogs. Here are two suggestions.

Finnmarksløpet for groups

The annual Finnmarksløpet dog sled race covers a distance of 500 or 1,000 kilometres. That may sound a bit much for most of us, but why not gather your team for a mini version of the race? The group will be divided into mushers (dog sled drivers), journalists, photographers, volunteers, start- and finish assistants, veterinaries etc. An activity that is great fun and brings out everyone’s teambuilding capacity.

After the race you will be served a lovely, well-deserved three-course meal.

Price example (2014): NOK 2,870 per person including comfortable accommodation at Rica Hotel Alta (double room)

Obstacle course with the husky dogs

An alternative group adventure with the friendly husky dogs is to complete an obstacle course together with a dog, either in teams or individually. Along the way, there will be different challenges to solve. A light meal is served at the end of the activity and in the evening a three-course dinner is served.

Price example (2014): NOK 2,395 per person including comfortable accommodation at Rica Hotel

About the huskies

The husky dogs are not just good sledge dogs, they also have friendly personalities and are very happy to meet new guests. Before the activities begin, participants will be introduced to the dogs and learn to harness them.
