Host your own Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer

Divide the group into Olympic teams and let them compete in the original sports arenas from the 1994 Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer.

Listings:

Day 1

Arrival by train or bus from Oslo Airport Gardermoen in the afternoon. Opening Ceremony in the Olympic Arena Lysgårdsbakkene. Parade with torches from the Olympic arena Lysgårdsbakkene to the Freestyle arena for Tobogganing.

Enjoy an ice cold drink in the Ice Bar and visit the Ice Cathedral. Dinner in restaurant "Trollsalen" - the Troll Cave. You will find the Trollsalen Restaurant far inside the Fairy Tale Grotto in Hunderfossen Winterpark. The walls are decorated with fanciful scenes from well-known Norwegian Folktales. The restaurant is open for groups of minimum 30 persons.

Day 2

Olympic Competition - several options:

  • Biathlon/cross country skiing/snowshoes at the Olympic Arena Birkebeineren Ski Stadium.
  • Olympic Quiz in Norwegian Olympic Museum, Håkons Hall.
  • Sledge hockey in Kristins Hall.
  • Alpine team competition in the Olympic arena Hafjell/Kvitfjell.
  • Dog Sledding.

Lunch might be served after the activities at different arenas, in a lavvo or in a restaurant. After lunch you might arrange a business meeting at the hotel or just enjoy a couple of hours off.

Evening programme:

Take the chairlift to the top of the Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jumping Hill. For groups of max 20 persons it is possible to arrange an exclusive dinner in the Jumping Hill Tower with magnificent view over Lillehammer.

Dinner can be arranged at Restaurant Telemarkstunet - a traditional farmstead - situated only a few minutes walk from the Jumping Hill tower. Guests will be served in the pleasant rooms in the old barn. Capacity 15 - 150 persons.

Day 3

Olympic Competition in the Olympic Bob & Luge Track. Medal Ceremony and lunch in the Open Air Museum at Maihaugen.

Departure by train or bus from Lillehammer to Oslo Airport Gardermoen.
