Deep-sea fishing

You can hire a boat and go fishing at your own, or you can go fishing with a local fishing boat and captain/guide. Offersøy Feriesenter's boats are good equipped for fishing.

It is possible to catch cod, coalfish, pollack, haddock, redfish, catfish or halibut.

Records at Offersøy:

  • Cod 33 kilos
  • Coalfish 21 kilos
  • Halibut 42 kilos

Season: The best season is from March/April to the beginning of September.

Other activities

Diving among the skerries near Offersøy. Killer whale safaris and orca-diving, combined with bird-watching and northern light observations are possible in November and December. Mountain hiking. Walking in Møysalen National Park. Sightseeing in Lofoten and Vesterålen.

Accommodation

Offersøy Feriesenter offers accommodation in rooms at a motel, in cabins and fishermen's cabins (rorbus), or camping. Self-catering is possible. Half board/full board in the restaurant.

Getting to Offersøy Feriesenter

Offersøy is located in Lødingen Vestbygd, 40 kilometres from Lødingen, 80 kilometres from Sortland and 120 kilometres from Svolvær and Harstad.

By car, or by local bus from Lødingen. Drive road rv. 837 from Kanstad (the E10 to/from Lofoten and Vesterålen).

The nearest airport is Harstad/Narvik Airport Evenes.

The nearest port of call for Hutigruten (The Norwegian Coastal Voyage) is Sortland.
