Sognefjord, Norway's longest and deepest fjord, stretches over 200 kilometres inwards to the foot of the Jotunheimen Mountains. This area is considered to be one of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world. This organised round trip, Sognefjord in a nutshell, combines a beautiful boat journey on the Sognefjord with a spectacular train journey on the Flåm Railway and a trip on the Bergensbanen railway, Northern Europe's highest railway line.

In addition to the magnificent Sognefjord and Flåm Railway, on this trip you will experience the narrow Dalsfjord and the beautiful Gaularfjell mountainMountain with its many waterfalls and rapids.

The express boat takes you on an eventful journey along the coast of Western Norway, from Bergen to the Sognefjord. At this point you change boats and join a guided tour into the narrow Dalsfjord all the way to Bygstad.

After a stop here, the journey continues by bus from Bygstad to Balestrand via the National Tourist Route over the Gaularfjell mountainMountain. Along the protected Gaularvassdraget watercourse you can see effervescent rapids and wild waterfalls. The journey is exciting and varied with beautiful nature, fantastic views and roads that curl between steep mountains and narrow valleys.

Balestrand lies at the end of the Gaularfjellsveien road and here you will find museums, galleries and wonderful overnight accommodation. After a good night's sleep the journey continues by boat to on the spectacular Sognefjord to Flåm. Here you will board one of Norway's biggest tourist attractions, the Flåm Railway. At Myrdal you will meet the Bergensbanen railway, one of the world's finest railway lines, which will take you back to Bergen or Oslo.
