In Eastern Norway, on the west side of the Oslofjord there are many surprising and exciting attractions …

… such as the village of Bærums Verk, just a half an hour's drive outside Oslo.

The former ironworks has turned into cozy cafes and niche shops. In December, the historical venue transforms into a wondrous Christmas market.

Experience a glassblower and other craftsmen in action …

… and go for a walk in the sculpture park, where you will find more than 29 monuments created by some of Norway’s most renowned sculptors.

Heard about the Queen of Polka Dots from Japan?

The artwork by world-known Yayoi Kusama is one of the highlights at the Henie Onstad Art Center in Bærum.

We’re coming up! The huskies at Bergvang visitor farm, in Asker, simply love to run!

Meet farm animals in beautiful natural surroundings, walk with the cute alpacas, go horseback riding and enjoy the farm café during winter and summer.

In Asker, you’ll find the coastal pearl Vollen, with beautiful beaches, a recreational area and a unique history and coastal culture.

Did you know that the famous Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen’s polar vessel “MS Maud” was built here? Dive into the fascinating history at the Oslofjord museum.

The coastal trail winds along the west side of the Oslofjord, almost continuously between the cities of Oslo and Larvik.

You can stroll along as the trail passes through Vollen.

Continue southwards to get to the Hurumhalvøya – for most people, this is an undiscovered pearl.

Enjoy the charming bays, farm shops and art galleries by the coastal settlements of Holmsbu and Rødtangen.

Another place worth visiting is the Villa Malla at Filtvet.

Grab your flip-flops and your sunscreen and head to the Oslo fjords own beach paradise – with a white beach, palm trees and the restaurant’s Mediterranean buffet.

And don’t miss the annual art exhibit at the lighthouse.

Stop by Drammen if you’re longing for the urban vibes. The city has won several awards for its urban development.

Check out the street art, cultural events, and the architecture at the Papirbredden before you …

… cross the renowned Ypsilon bridge and follow the promenade along the scenic Drammenselva river.

Bring along your swimsuit, fishing rod and picnic basket.

Drammen’s greatest hidden gem is underground.

The dramatic tunnel named Spiralen, or the spiral, is ranked in the top ten greatest tunnels in the world.

You’re driving in circles, six times around your own axis!

From the streets of Drammen you may travel a bit further to experience some of the most lush areas in Eastern Norway, like Lier, Hurum and Svelvik.

Here, they have cultivated fruit and vegetables for generations, and you can taste award-winning apple cider and dessert wine from the local farms.

All of these treasures are waiting for you by the Oslofjord!
