Geilo offers alpine and Telemark skiing for all levels with a total of 39 slopes. Snowboarders and jibbers can revel in 4 terrain parks and Geilo is recognised as a world-class area for kite-skiing.
Geilo has 18 ski lifts of different types, and its maximum capacity is more than 25,000 passengers per hour. There are rarely queues.
The ski season lasts from the beginning of November until the end of April.

For the children
Geilo is a children's paradise, with activities for children of all ages, both outdoors and indoors.
At the ski resort there are children's slopes, sledging slopes, treasure hunts, cross-country skiing orienteering, ski schools and great skiing tracks that are suitable for children.
The youngest children may enjoy spending time at Trollklubben kindergarten at Geilolia Ski Centre whilst the adults are out on the slopes. This is an approved kindergarten for children between one and six years old. It is open from Christmas until the end of season.

Ski school
The ski schools in Geilo are for everyone, whether you wish to learn to master carving, alpine skiing, Telemark skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing. Choose between the following schools:
Cross-country skiing
Altogether, Geilo and Ustaoset have 550 kilometres of prepared cross-country tracks in both forest and mountain terrain. The tracks are suitable for freestyle cross-country skiing, and some of them are illuminated in the evening.
You can get a map of the trails from the tourist information in Geilo, or at most hotels and cabins. You can hire cross-country equipment from the ski hire outlets mentioned above.
Winter without skis
Sleigh rides: Enjoy a winter adventure by sleigh with wonderful nature, some good stories, torches and "gløgg" (Norwegian mulled wine).
Dog sledding: Choose from several dog sledding trips - different durations are available.
