Where to stay in Sunnfjord

Hotels

You can choose between hotels in the town of Førde or in villages nearby - these offer facilities such as swimming pool, spa and gym. You can also stay at traditional bed and breakfast establishments. The village of Skei, which is located on the northern shores of the Lake Jølster, between the Sognefjord and the Nordfjord areas, is a great base for exploring some of the most spectacular and well-known sights and tourist attractions in this part of Fjord Norway.

Holiday homes, cabins and camping

Cabins, from basic to high standard, can be found close to lakes and rivers. The cabins are located near good fishing and hiking grounds, with tall mountains and cascading waterfalls as your closest neighbours. Camp sites for tents or caravans are other alternatives. Located in Jølster, close to the Jostedal Glacier National Park, the cabins at Stardalen Hyttegrend enjoy a peaceful location. From Stardalen you have easy access to several side valleys, which are ideal for lighter walks or skiing trips. At the end of the valley you will find the glacier.

Farm stays

Get a taste of real Western Norwegian hospitality at a farm stay where your hosts serve home-made farm food and tell local stories. You could for example stay at Åmot Operagard, a 120-year-old Swiss-style building in Sunnfjord, which offers gourmet food and opera in a rural setting.
