Arctic experiences with Turgleder

Turgleder is located in Karasjok, the Norwegian Sámi capital, in the far north of Norway. They offer an opportunity to experience wild Arctic Norwegian nature and culture in an eco-friendly, safe and comfortable way.

Activities on offer

Visit a reindeer herder and learn about their traditional way of life or go hiking or snowshoeing through the barren landscape of the Arctic north. Learn the art of skiing from Turgleder's experienced backcountry skiers or travel deep into remote Lapland by canoe.

Join a northern lights safari to the holy mountain Halde, where Sámi people have come to give sacrifices to gods and ancestors for centuries. Learn about the northern lights in Sámi and Norwegian culture and of course witness this magical natural phenomenon with your own eyes. Turgleder's excellent photo instructor can show you how to take good pictures of the aurora borealis.

Turgleder offer pre-designed activities which are open for booking as well as tailor-made adventures for individuals, groups and businesses.

Getting there

Travel direct to Karasjok by plane, or to Alta or Lakselv and further with bus or taxi to Karasjok. Turgleder is located at the Engholm Husky Lodge, six kilometres west from Karasjok on road rv. 92.

About Turgleder

Turgleder is a certified Norwegian ecotourism company and all Turgleder activities and adventures are recognised by high quality and a sustainable, ecological use of the environment. All arrangements are built on active participation by you as a guest. Turgleder primarily cater for small groups of between 1 and 10-12 guests. A small group leaves smaller footprints in nature and a bigger footprint in your heart. In a small group guides are also in a better position to care for your wishes and needs.
