Northern lights snowshoe safari

Ski school

If you were not born a skier, a four-hour ski lesson in hilly terrain around Karasjok can literally get you on your feet. Turgleder offer tuition for beginners.

Day trip on a dog sled

Learning to drive a dog sled takes two minutes, and then you can drive off onto the plain with your own dog team. You don't need to be particularly strong or tough - most people can do it. So why not join a husky safari with Engholm?

Sami handicrafts

Duodji, or Sami handicrafts, are based on ancient traditions. Join the staff at Thon Hotel Kautokeino on a small course where you will make a craft item and get an insight into Sami traditions. 

Multi-day dog sled trips

For those wanting to venture into the wilderness for longer, Engholm in Karasjok offers a number of multi-day dog sledding trips in Inner Finnmark, with scheduled departures. You will sleep in tents or cabins.

Reindeer herding
