Western Finnmark has five airports: Alta (ALF), Hasvik (HAA), Hammerfest (HFT), Honningsvåg (HVG) and Lakselv (LKL).
There are buses to almost all inhabited places in Western Finnmark. Departures are infrequent, however, and careful planning is essential.

The Finnish bus company Eskelisen Lapin Linjat operates bus routes from Rovaniemi to Karasjok all year round. In the summer, they also operate routes to Alta and the North Cape.
Roads, bridges and tunnels have replaced a lot of boat traffic on the coast of Western Finnmark. However, those that remain are great for holiday trips.
Road conditions are good in Western Finnmark, and motorists encounter few problems. Mountain passes may close for short periods in winter.
