Gamle Hellesund

Gamle Hellesund is one of the first outports in Blindleia, and is also one of the most beautiful coastal stretches in Norway.

Gamle Hellesund is one of the best preserved outports in the area, it is also the first outport in Blindleia. The place has been inhabited since 1729, and the place operated customs and refuge for sailing ships. During the Napoleonic Wars many settled on privaeering.

Gamle Hellesund has no guest harbour and all the piers and houses are private.

To get to Gamel Hellesund you must have your own boat or you can take the summer ferry M/B Øya to see the outport from the seaside.
