Kristiansand Zoo

Norway's largest zoo is situated just ten minutes outside Kristiansand city centre. At the zoo you'll find lions and tigers, monkeys, birds, reptiles, farm animals and norwegian wildlife such as wolves, moose, lynx and polar foxes. Cheetahs are the newest addition to the zoo from May 2014.

At Badelandet, the wet world next to the zoo, the whole family can enjoy themselves in different pools and water slides. There are designated splash zones designed for the smallest kids.

You'll also have the opportunity to spend a night with Kaptein Sabeltann and his pirate crew in Abra Havn, Kaptein Sabeltanns' own pirate village. Kardemomme By is also available for accommodation during the summer season.

For information and opening hours, please visit the Kristiansand Zoo homepage.

Lazy days by the water

Enjoying the summer atmosphere in the city center

Buy shrimps and fresh seafood to enjoy on the pier or catch the atmosphere in the many restaurants in the area. Take a swim at Bystranda, a blue flag beach, or visit the wet world Aquarama next to the beach if the weather or temperature doesn't allow swimming. Attend a concert or a festival for kids. Visit museums or art galleries with activities for children and check out the activity calendar to find out what's on while you're visiting.
