In an area called Kvinlog outside the town of Kvinesdal, lies Solli Farm. It is a 7000 acre forest farm that offers accommodation, hunting, fishing, conferences, waterfalls and natural beauty. The farm was built in the 1800's and has recently been renovated and converted into an activity and hunting facility.
The owners Birgit and her husband Viktor have spent two years completely renovating the property so it looks almost brand new but when you step inside the farm house, you can see its original design and decor. There is a large dining room, a bar, professional kitchen and sleeping quarters upstairs.
Outside, there is a barbeque and oven section perfect for a meal with friends or a romantic evening with the mountains in the back ground.
The Hunter's quarters
Located next to the farm house is a newly constructed building that is the 'hunters quarters'. From the outside, it looks like a little farm house but when you open the door, it is something completely different. It is kind of like walking into a Viking room where the men returned after a mission or hunting. On the ceiling are lights made from deer horns, long wooden tables and chairs leading to an open fire place, woolen rugs on the benches and of course deer heads on the walls.
Accommodation and hunting
Solli offers visitors a complete package including accommodation and home cooked bread and food from local organic produce. It is a perfect location for a company and their employees having a weekend away or even the family.
In the main house, there are the four bedrooms which can accommodate up to fifteen people. One of the bedrooms has beds built into the walls for privacy and a fun way to sleep for children.
Solli offers; supervised hunting, mountain hiking tours, fishing for mountain trout, team building for companies and organisations, horse riding and stone oven for cooking food purchased on the farm.
Kvinlog is a two hour drive from Kristiansand and a forty minute drive from Kvinesdal.
From the 465 road from Kvinesdal, you will see a small sign that says Solli. Turning into the small unpaved road you will arrive at the Solli Farm on the way passing forest, large horse stables, a large fenced in area of hjort (deer) and a little bridge over a river. Then looking directly at the farm, there is a forest to the rear, a waterfall to the right and mountains to the left. Contact Solli Farm for more information.
