The workout, Hovden

The workout can be done in Hovden cross-country stadium. There are many trails to choose from, short and long, steep and gentle. There are favourable conditions to practise classic or skate skiing, and in the stadium you can practise the finish. Both the stadium and large portions of the trail network have floodlights until 11 pm every night. Hovden Langrennsarena (cross-country stadium) is centrally located in Hovden, and most visitors can get there from their living quarters in Hovden without a car.

Sirdal

Sirdal is a ski destination with a varied terrain for refreshing cross-country skiing. The total network of trails reaches 200 km, well prepared for optimal skiing. All ski trails are marked according to national guidelines, thus making it easy to find one's perfect trail. The trails are divided into four main areas: Ådneram-Suleskar, Fidjeland-Tjørholm, Tonstad-Josdalsheia, and Mydland.

Gluggvarden-Slåttedalen, Bortelid, Åseral

This is a beautiful high mountain trail in an incredible mountain landscape. One possible starting point is to go up Slåttedalen via Dyplan and into Gluggvarden. This results in a steep first 4 km, then an even and nice trip, followed by some downhill slopes the final 5 km. The trail starts at 580 metres above sea level, at the Ski Centre, and rises to 780 metres above sea level in the course of 4 km. The highest point is at 820 metres above sea level, at the crossing between the trail towards the ski lift, Slåttedalen and Gluggvarden. The trail is somewhat demanding, but is relatively suitable for most people. 17 km. If you want to take a shorter trail, take ski lift 1 to the top and take Gluggvarden, 14 km, or Slåttedalen, 7 km. Popular recreational area, quite certainly with snow during winter. Different trail lengths that are prepared with a snow grooming vehicle for both skate and classic skiing. Large parking area at Øynastua (Froland) and Toplandsheia (Birkenes). Remember money for parking fee.

Hillestad, Åmli

Several prepared ski trails in connection with a holiday cabin area on the top of Hillestadheia. Different lengths (2, 6, 6 and 10 km).

Høgås skianlegg, Evje og Hornnes

The main trails start at Høgås skianlegg (skiing facility) and there's a network of trails going east towards Himmelsyna (649 metres above sea level) and Førevatn in Froland, and north to Gautestad, (Brahjelmen, Høna and Urdalsfjell in Bygland). There are also trails southwards towards Undeland and Flatebygd. The Høgås area is 480-520 metres above sea level.
