Enjoy a 4-day round trip with bike and boat at the gateway to the Jotunheimen mountains and stay at Bøflaten Camping, Fondsbu DNT, Grønolen Fjellgard and Sørre Hemsing.

Program
Day 1
Start at Bøflaten Camping and follow the E16 to the West, first along the shores of Lake Vangsmjøsa, and then uphill to Tyinkrysset on the Filefjell mountain plateau (34 km). Here you exit to the right onto road 53 and keep on going uphill for another 4 km until you reach Lake Tyin. Here you exit to the right onto road 242 (unsealed) and follow it all the way to Eidsbugarden (23 km).
Total distance day 1: 57 km.

In the afternoon you have the opportunity to go on a hike in the surrounding area, for instance Utsikten (1607 moh). Other suggestions are available at Fondsbu.
Overnight at Fondsbu DNT Cabin.

Day 2
“M/B Bitihorn” will take you on a breathtaking journey along Lake Bygdin, where you will see some of Jotunheimens 2000m peaks. There are two departures daily. The trip takes approx. two hours. From Bygdin, you follow road 51 to the South, first 5 km uphill towards the saddle Båtskaret and then 10 km downhill to Beitostølen. At the centre of Beitostølen, exit to the right towards Beito (2.5 km downhill) and follow the sign to the right towards Slettefjellvegen. After 1 km, turn left towards Grønolen Fjellgard (500 m).
Total distance day 2: 19 km.

Relax at the wellness centre of Grønolen Fjellgard or enjoy a stroll through the scenic surroundings. Overnight at Grønolen Fjellgard.

Day 3
From Grønolen Fjellgard, continue on the Slettefjellvegen road (unsealed) over the mountain pass of Slettefjellet towards Hensåsen. The downhill part on the other side of the pass is steep – cycle with care! We recommend a 10 min detour by foot to the waterfall Sputrefossen (signposted from the road).
Total distance day 3: 22 km.

In the afternoon, you can explore the unsealed road along the Northern shore of Lake Vangsmjøsa. There some old mills along the stream Leine and if you’re fit, you can cycle up into the valley Sanddalen and visit Sanddalsstølen – link, a traditional summer mountain farm (certain week days only).
Overnight at Sørre Hemsing.

Day 4
From Hensåsen, cycle downhill to the Hensåsen bridge and return along road E16 to Bøflaten Camping.
Total distance day 4: 16.5 km.
