Nesjar & Picasso: The Fishermen

  • Akersgata 44, Oslo
  •  /  km From You
Overview

"The Fishermen" is a wall decoration from 1970 made by Norwegian artist Carl Nesjar based on drawings by Pablo Picasso. It can be seen on the end wall of the 'Y building' - one of the Government buildings in Akersgata.

Nesjar and Picasso worked together for 17 years, resulting in a number of sculptures and building decorations around the world. Many of the art works they made together are made the same way as "The Fishermen": The motives were designed by Picasso and then sandblasted by Carl Nesjar onto the concrete façade.
