Drive your own dogsledge through a landscape covered in snow - this is the trip for those who want a full day trip combining dogsledge and icecave exploration.
Accompanied by dogs and our experienced guides you will be transported through the beautiful landscape of Spitsbergen, where you can fully enjoy the silence and the magnificent arctic nature. This trip gives you a full day of dog sledging in combination with visit to the ice cave.
Our guide will meet you in the reception at your hotel and gives you information about the trip and provides necessary equipment. You will be transported by car to Basecamp Trapper's Station situated in Bolterdalen, where our 80 friendly Alaskan huskies give you a warm welcome. The guide will give you a brief introduction in the principle of dogsledding and helps you to harness your own team. On this trip 2 persons share one dog team, and can take turns in driving.
Arriving to the glacier you will be provided headlamps and helmets. With properly equipment we can take closer look inside the glacier and explore the fantastic formations of ice and rocks shaped by nature’s own forces. Based on the weather conditions the lunch can be eaten either inside the cave or outside enjoying the beautiful scenery.
