In Jæren, the municipality of Klepp has the longest sandy beaches in Norway. In total, the municipality has 11 km with long, sandy beaches.

Throughout the beaches there are areas with sand dunes and very interesting flora and fauna.

There are public recreation areas both at the beaches of Bore and Orre.The coastline is good for walking both summer and winter. At the Sele harbour, and at the Bore and Orre beaches you will find nice viewing points.

The coastline is among the most popular recreation areas of the Stavanger Region. The main activity is hiking, and when the conditions are good you can experience great conditions for swimming. Salmon fishing in the Figgjo river and sea fishing from the piers in the harbour at Sele and Reve are also popular.

The Orre beach is Norway's longest sandy beach. Here you will find Orre's recreation center (Friluftshuset) - an information center about outdoor activities and environmental protection, together with a kiosk, toilets and parking spaces. To get there, follow Rv. 504 (the North Sea Route).

The coastline in Klepp consists of pebbles and sand. The landscape tye is special both in a national and international context, and all the coastline is in the conservation area. The coastline is also known for its rich bird life. The bird life between Reve and Orre and between Vik and Skeie is specially protected.  This means that the dogs must be on a leash all year around. At Orre, a bit south of the recreation center, you will find an area where the plant life is protected and it is forbidden to pick up flowers.
