Safety in the Norwegian mountains

Bring the right equipment and clothing, and get tips on first aid.

The Norwegian mountains are fantastic. Fresh water, pure air and beautiful nature as far as the eye can see. An experience of nature you will remember for life.

However, a walking tour needs planning. That is why you should read the brochure Safety in the Norwegian mountains before setting out on your hike. The brochure gives you useful information, for example about the equipment and clothing you should pack, as well as first aid advice and some information about the Norwegian rescue service.

The Norwegian Mountain Code

The Norwegian Mountain Code is directed towards your safety. When hiking, cycling or skiing in the Norwegian mountains you should always try to follow the mountain code.
