Alpine skiing

Home to Norway’s biggest ski area, Trysil is a brilliantly laid out and easy to use resort that makes it ideal for a family holiday to remember. Trysil lies in the heart of Scandinavia, yet easy to reach from Oslo in just 212 hours.

Snow cover is superb, with the season running from late October to May. Snow
is actually guaranteed or you get your money back!

The pistes are laid out on three sides of the volcano-shaped Trysilfjellet at 1,132 metres the hub of the area, 85 percent of the accommodation is ski-in, ski-out and frequent buses link all areas of the resort.

There are runs of all abilities, a six seat chairlift and floodlit skiing three times a week plus no end of other activities from dog-sledding and bowling to horse-drawn sleigh rides.

The brand new Radisson SAS Resort Trysil with its luxurious spa and pool complex opens in December 2008.

Easy to get round

It is easy to get from one side of the mountain to the other. Whichever side of the mountain you are staying, you can reach it all quite easily. There are three ways over the mountain and the fastest of these is to use the Hesten and Kanken lifts. The top of these two lifts brings you to 1,100 metres above sea level. From here you can see for many miles in all directions. This is also the starting point for a variety of runs.

Modern facilities and snow pledge

Norway’s largest ski resort has 65 slopes and 32 lifts, six of which are chairlifts. A six seater lift of high standard will offer fast and comfortable transport to the top of the mountain on the north face of the mountain. The seats are heated and if the wind should be blowing a little up here, the wind screens will make your journey to the top much more comfortable. This is Scandinavia’s first chairlift with heated seats.

From 15 November until 12 December Trysil’s Snow Pledge guarantees at least eight kilometres of runs and an elevation drop of 620 metres. This same guarantee also applies to the period 20 April through 1 May. From 13 December until 19 April Trysil guarantees at least 20 kilometres of runs and a drop of 620 metres. In addition we guarantee that you can ski back and forth between Trysil Høyfjellssenter and the Trysil Tourist Centre.

The snow pledge covers overnight stays, ski school, ski rentals and ski passes. If we don not fulfil our pledge, you can choose not to travel to Trysil – and we will refund whatever you had booked. You can read more about our snow pledge at skistar.com/trysil.

In December 2008, the SAS Radisson Trysil Resort will open at the Trysil Tourist Centre. This hotel will offer high-standard hotel rooms and flats, a separate spa wing, and a 1,300-square metre water park. The water-play area will boast Norway’s first indoor surfing wave, plus a climbing wall dropping right into the water. The SAS Radisson Trysil Resort will be a modern hotel with an impressive conference capacity of 1,500 persons. The hotel will maintain high quality in each and every facility.
